MN BB Academy is looking for Blizzard Elite and Fall Blizzard Coaches!
Coaches,
Minnesota Baseball Academy is looking for coaches to lead our 10u -
18u Blizzard Fall and Elite teams. This year, we are expecting
upwards of 30 teams and we're looking for the best youth coaches in
the state! Coaches have the choice of whether to coach Fall Blizzard
or in our Elite Blizzard program. Below are the responsibilities for
both programs including the pay. Applications are due by July 18th.
Fall Blizzard:
Pay: $350 + hourly wage for lessons, camps and coaches clinics
Responsibilities and Important Dates:
Practices will be held once a week, usually on Saturdays starting
August 16th through Oct. 4th. Practices usually last 90-120 minutes
and are written and run through you and/or the other coach. Practices
usually run together with another team of the similar age group so you
can scrimmage. Fields have not yet been determined, but will probably
be in Roseville.
We play 5 Sunday double headers from September 7th - October 5th
including a local one-day Saturday tournament.
Schedules and directions to the field will be up on our website.
You'll be responsible for contacting parents for rain outs, etc. We
always play our games on the road so there will be no home-field
preparations that you will be responsible for.
You should have your team meet at the field at least 45 minutes before
game time to go through: form running, stretching, 3-step throwing and
batting practice (with whiffle balls). You are responsible for
writing line-ups, pre-game routine, game management and most
importantly - to create a fantastic and fun environment where you'll
be constantly teaching during and in between innings.
All coaches will go through a mini coaches clinic when you receive all
of your equipment, score book, baseballs and uniforms for your team.
We expect and understand that all coaches have a different style of
teaching, but there are certain aspects that Minnesota Baseball
Academy wants to make sure all players have: offensive signs, pre-game
routine, etc.
An additional way to make extra money in our Blizzard program is by
giving lessons to your players. Lessons can be given at any time up
at the facility and is a great way for additional income. Pay/hour is
based on experience and a short interview process.
Minnesota Baseball Academy also understands that you might not be able
to make it to every practice or every single game. Our staff
directors need to know in advance to make proper arrangements.

are the responsibilities that come with traveling with the team. Here
is what you can expect if you are a Blizzard Elite coach in addition
to the Fall League dates.
All coaches will be responsible for continuing practice past the fall
and into the winter before we leave for tournaments. Once you get to
your tournament destination, your responsibilities begin with picking
up the team vans and transporting players to their hotels (if they
need it), checking players in, bed checks, transporting your team to
the field, pre-game routine, game management, communicating to your
Team Leader and/or your team meeting times for meals, game times, rain
outs, etc. Coaches are also responsible for taking players back to
