Hitting League Format
The Hitting League consists of individual and team instruction and
competition. A five (5) inning game will held on each session date. Games
last 35 minutes and are preceded by 20 minutes of baseball instruction. Two
leagues will be offered for high school (9-12 grades) athletes and a middle
school league (5-8 grades). Eighth graders have the option of playing in the
high school league if they choose.
Individuals not enrolling with a team will be assigned to a team by
our staff. Point totals for individuals and teams will be kept and
posted weekly. League schedules will be posted on
www.minnesotabaseballacademy.com.
Scoring
Each player will take five (5) swings each inning with every hit receiving a
point value based on where the ball is hit.
1 pt. – foul ball or fly ball
2 pt. – ground ball to sides of cage
3 pt. – ground ball up the middle
4 pt. – line drive in the side of cage
5 pt. – line drive into side of cage
10pt. – line drive into banner + the weekly prize (last year, prizes
included: shirts, hats, go-cart passes, free pizza)
If there is a tie, each game will go into sudden death extra innings.
Playoffs
February 8th will be the final tournament day where the top seeded teams
from all sessions will play to determine who the Hitting League Champion.
Seeding will be determined once all teams have entered the league. Trophies
will be awarded to the Hitting League Champions.
